Apple launches Major Update for Logic Pro App at Last Loose Event

ChromaGlow is another new Logic Pro feature

At Apple’s Let Loose event on Tuesday, the tech giant unveiled not only new iPad Pro and iPad Air models but also introduced a significant update for the Logic Pro app. This update brings enhanced AI-powered features and new tools for mixing tracks and beats, marking a notable evolution in the company’s in-house digital audio workstation (DAW).

New Features for Music Enthusiasts

The Logic Pro app has long been a go-to platform for music enthusiasts, enabling them to mix beats and create professional-quality tracks. With the latest update, Apple has introduced three new features, each designed to elevate the user experience:

1. Session Players: A highlight of the update, Session Players expands on the existing Drummer feature by introducing two additional virtual session players — a Bass Player and a Keyboard Player. Developed using AI and sampling technology, these players offer a wide range of styles and techniques to accompany tracks. Users can choose from eight Bass Players, each customizable with parameters like slides, mutes, dead notes, and pickup hits. The Keyboard Player, available in four different styles, incorporates Chord Track and Studio Piano plugins for advanced control over chord voicing and harmony.

2. Stem Splitter: This unique feature empowers users to split and extract any audio recording into drums, bass, vocals, and other instruments. Once separated, users can apply individual effects or add new parts before combining them again, providing greater flexibility and creativity in music production.

3. ChromaGlow: Adding a touch of warmth and presence to tracks, ChromaGlow is a saturation-style controller that offers five different styles of reverb with varying amounts of voice saturation. Apple touts this feature as capable of delivering “ultrarealistic warmth, presence, and punch” to any track, enhancing the overall audio experience.

Elevating the Music Creation Experience

With these new features, Apple continues to elevate the music creation experience for Logic Pro users, providing them with powerful tools and capabilities to unleash their creativity. The Logic Pro update aligns with Apple’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the realm of digital audio workstations, setting a new standard for professional music production.
