Rumors surrounding the highly anticipated debut of the Google Pixel 8a at the company’s annual Google I/O conference, scheduled for May 14, are intensifying as the expected launch date approaches. With anticipation building, more details about the successor to the Pixel 7a have emerged online, shedding light on what could be in store for Google’s upcoming smartphone.

A notable tipster, @MysteryLupin, has recently shared additional renders of the upcoming Pixel phone’s cases, launching an unexpected fifth color option. While previous renders showcased the phone in four colors — black, beige, blue, and green — the latest reveal introduces a coral pink variant, adding a surprising twist to the lineup. This unexpected addition has sparked speculation that Google may follow in Apple’s footsteps by introducing a coral-colored Pixel 8a later in the product cycle.

In terms of pricing, a recent report by Smartprix suggests that the US pricing for the Google Pixel 8a will remain consistent, without any increase. The smartphone is anticipated to be priced at $499 (approximately Rs. 41,600) for the 128GB storage variant and $599 (approximately Rs. 50,000) for the 256GB model. This pricing strategy is expected to offer considerable value for consumers in the US, considering the significant upgrades anticipated in the new Pixel device, all while maintaining the same price point.

Furthermore, the report predicts that the pricing for the Indian market could start at Rs. 44,999, following a similar pricing pattern observed last year. Notably, the Pixel 7a was priced slightly higher in India compared to direct currency conversion, likely to accommodate additional charges and taxes applicable in the country.

According to previous reports, the Google Pixel 8a is expected to be powered by the Google Tensor G3 chipset and receive seven years of security updates. Additionally, rumors suggest that the device will feature an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with incorporating the latest AI features introduced in the Pixel 8 series. As excitement continues to build, tech enthusiasts eagerly await the official launching of the Google Pixel 8a, poised to deliver enhanced performance and innovative features to users worldwide.
